PickMyCruise

A decision engine designed to make cruise selection more understandable by turning unfamiliar choices, tradeoffs, and terminology into a clearer path forward.

The product

PickMyCruise brings the variables behind a cruise purchase into one decision experience: ship, itinerary, cabin, pricing, loyalty, and the traveler’s own priorities.

My role

Founder / Product Lead — defining the product, shaping the decision model, and translating a complex consumer purchase into a more approachable experience.

PickMyCruise live product interface

Cruise planning asks people to compare too much at once.

For many travelers, especially first-time or infrequent cruisers, the booking process can feel like a maze of unfamiliar terms and hidden tradeoffs. The goal was not to add more choices; it was to make the important choices easier to understand.

Product decisions

01

Start with the traveler

The experience begins with preferences and constraints, then uses them to frame the options that deserve attention.

02

Explain the tradeoffs

Recommendations should show the reasoning behind them, so a traveler can make a confident decision rather than follow a black box.

03

Make complexity navigable

Cabins, ships, itineraries, pricing, and loyalty considerations become connected parts of one decision journey.

Current state

A live independent product built around clarity, not catalog overload.

PickMyCruise demonstrates how product strategy, UX simplification, and decision-system thinking can make a high-consideration purchase feel more manageable and more human.
